A 13 minute post. Getting closer to my regular length again…

One of the very few advantages of having had a lot happen “to me,” so far in life, is that I have a better appreciation of the ongoing reality of The World Outside. Kind of like how when you live a significant part of your day outdoors, you get more attuned to the weather, the moon cycles, the air quality, the various obstacles coming down from the sky to cover your path…some parts of my life have been less outdoors-y and climate dependent. This part is a little more. I’m aware of the temperature each day. I care.

I can’t control the weather here. It is very clear to me that I must make my peace with that fact, and simply dress for it. The expensive mitts are worth it. The boots had better be warm and waterproof. I have a large assortment of toques and scarves. I would far rather look ridiculous and feel cozy (and feel my fingers, period!) than be less bulked up and much more miserable. And, …
